
Ingredients
- Toor Dal : 100ml or 20oz
- Onion : 1/4 American Onion or 1/2 Indian Onion
- Green Chilly : 7
- Red Chilly : 3
- Garlic : 9 cloves
- Coriander
- Curry Leaves
Instructions
- Wash dal 3 times
- Put 300ml of water (for 100ml or dal) in cooker with Dal
- After cooker blows for 4-5 whitsles remove the dal into another container and add little water to reduce the viscosity
- Now out some butter and oil in the clean cooker and keep on low flame. Then add mustard then jeera and wait to pop. Then once popping add garlic
- Once garlic becomes little brown, add the onions, chilly etc (except coriander)
- Sizzle for a while then add the dal broth and then add turmeric
- Stir until dal is done then finally at coriander to garnish
Tips
Adding a bit on Cinnamon during the tadka phase makes it pretty good!
